Why Are Abortion And Contraception Statistics The Same For Catholics And Non-Catholics

When we look at any political movement, it is important to analyze the ideas they condone, endorse and promote. The leaders of the social progressive party in the US, specifically Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, promote “abortion on demand” up to the moment of birth. They do everything possible to insure Planned Parenthood and other abortion providers receive government money to promote and facilitate abortions and contraception.

The Catholic Church teaches that we need to protect life from conception to a natural death. Contraception is wrong because in many cases the different birth control methods result in the destruction of living embryos.

In Proverbs 3: 5-7 it says, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, And do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear the LORD and turn away from evil.”

Only a miracle of God creates life with the help of the parents. Sex that results in procreation is an integral part of the Sacrament of Marriage.

Few Catholics realize that contraception and abortion are a clear denial of their trust in God. They prefer to direct their own lives. They choose to make their own decisions about sex, contraception and abortion.

It would be great if Catholic parents, the clergy and teachers taught the importance of the sanctity of marriage and life and its impact on our lives and society. However, actions speak louder than words.

Unfortunately, for the last 40 years, younger generations listened to what their parents and teachers said about sex and marriage, but looked at their actions. Few Catholics now have any idea about what the Catholic Church teaches about sex, marriage and abortion.

Those who do know the teachings of the Catholic faith believe it is fine to pick and choose from a smorgasbord doctrines. They reject any that impinge on their worldly lifestyles.

The parents, schools and social progressive Church hierarchy are responsible for this dismal reality. Many Catholics are baptized pagans who go to Mass out of guilt.

The statistics on abortion, divorce and suicide are about the same as those of non-Christians. I agree with you that there is a huge disconnect in the lives of those Christians who choose abortion, but after all abortion is murder.

There is no greater sin that murdering a human being. Even the most depraved individual, at one time, was impacted by a God-given conscience that caused them to realize that murder is wrong.

Pope Francis realizes this crisis. He knows that love is the only way to change people’s hearts. Living our faith and sharing our love for God and therefore love for others must be done on a “one on one” basis.

The world will not change until we personally transform our own lives. We must pray, go to Mass and Eucharistic Adoration more often. Those actions provide us with the grace and courage necessary to proclaim our faith in a kind, non-judgmental and loving way.

When we do not know the teachings of the Catholic Church or choose to violate them, how can we live holy lives and raise children that know, love and trust God?
