This is a defense of our Catholic faith that is taking place on our Catholic Brothers For Christ Youtube account where we posted the videos from the 2015 North Texas Catholic Men’s Conference. Father Larry Richards’ “Be A Man” video seems to be causing quite a bit of controversy.
25EllisDee25 response to +Catholic Brothers For Christ: one thing puzzles me about you believers when it comes to abortion. how is abortion child abuse? if an unwanted child is aborted because someone is smart enough to realize they cannot possibly care for the child, they are actually preventing child abuse, and saving the child a lifetime of pain. if you believe unborn children have a soul, and god is fair and good, then giving the child an express ticket to never never land is doing the kid a favor. if god has a plan for the kid, too bad, god can adapt because he expects the unexpected, since he planned it that way. he planned the kid to be aborted back when he was deciding whether a zebra’s spots should be purple or green, so no matter what you do or i do, ultimately means nothing, because although we have what we believe to be free will, god decided long ago what we would do with that will. so its free will, but not your free will, its gods free will, but he is letting you feel what his free will feels like, or am i missing something? i do wish you would stop ignoring my questions. its almost like you are a bot.

Thank you for not calling me names and using foul language. I always enjoy an interesting discussion where both parties respect each others right to believe what they want to. I hope the following discussion will address your specific questions.
Of course, we disagree on whether God exists. I can only share my perspective that He is the Supreme Being that created and maintains our world and universe.
You are missing the truth that God created us and the entire universe. His eternal perspective negates time because in eternity there is no past, present or future.
God is not constrained by any time frame. However, we are created beings and live in human bodies for a designated time before we die.
Once we pass from this world, then God judges us according to how we lived our lives here on earth. Those who rejected God and His laws will experience an eternity of suffering that is unimaginable to us.
Yes, he gives us free will to make our own choices. The most important choice is to know, love and serve Him and keep His commandments or reject Him and his absolute laws.
God loves us and gives us every opportunity to follow a pathway that leads to a joyful eternal life or the opposite…hell. After reading numerous stories of saints and people who personally experienced hell, it is a place I pray that no one, even the most evil person, ever suffers for eternity there. It is such a horrific place, I pray that the world’s greatest murders like Hitler, Mao Tse Tung, Stalin, Herod and Pol Pot are not there.
The rules for our universe and existence are unique. God knows our decisions because He lives in eternity, however we have the freedom to make our own choices. God says that killing anyone from conception to a natural death is murder, except in the defense of life and just wars.
Atheists reject God’s laws so really anything is acceptable. When there is no God, then each person has the right to come up with their own set of beliefs. No one has the right to judge anyone else because there is no power greater than themselves.
The only constraint comes when more powerful individuals or groups can enforce their laws through the fear of punishment. Again, it is the “Golden Rule.” Whoever has the gold sets the rules because most people will sell their souls for the “love of money.”
Most atheists reject God and the first step to wisdom. They refuse to believe they are created by a power greater than themselves. They believe there are no eternal consequences for their actions here on earth.
However, God has a very different perspective. He says through the scriptures:
Proverbs 1:7 – The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Proverbs 8:13 – The fear of the LORD [is] to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Matthew 10:28 – And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 – Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man.
Many atheists reject God because they demand to have their own way without any constraint or judgement. They refuse to believe there are eternal rewards or punishments. The idea of eternal punishment really pisses them off. Thus, their hatred for the Trinity, Mary, the angels and saints and specifically the Catholic faith.
Satan loves atheists because they are making the same choice he made due to his arrogance and pride. He thought he won when he killed Christ on the cross, but he did not realize the unexpected consequences.
Jesus paid the penalty for all the sins of mankind. Salvation is a free gift but most atheists refuse the gift of love and forgiveness. Their desire to experience the life of a “natural man or woman” to the fullest guides their life path.
The answers to your questions won’t make much sense to you because you don’t accept or follow God’s laws.
1. Abortion is worse than child abuse because it is murder. Science has proven that the babies being aborted experience horrific levels of pain. Those involved in murdering anyone are guilty of a heinous crime against God and humanity.
By the way, “Do you feel it is okay to partially deliver a baby’s body and then stick a sharp pair of scissors into the head and suck out the brains? If that is not the most barbarous act, I don’t know what is.
All societies that murder innocent babies eventually end up in the scrap heap of history. The wanted births never can replace the babies who were aborted.
The lust for sexual pleasure without consequences necessitates abortion because of the miracle of human life is under God’s control. It is an acceptable solution for those who war against God’s laws.
Most countries that have embraced abortion without limits or restriction are in decline. They eventually collapse.
Over 75 million consumers, workers, geniuses and citizens were never born in the US since the passage or Roe vs Wade. Plus, there is the aspect of the judgement of God on those countries. Why do you think the US is on the verge of total financial, moral and spiritual collapse?
2. Killing an innocent baby because of a potential life of misery and suffering is man playing God. It is absurd and the height of arrogance to believe that any baby cannot achieve miraculous things in their lives.
Some of the greatest humans have overcome poverty, sickness and deformities. How many world-changers have been aborted because of financial or social pressures?
3. God witnesses the death of innocent babies in eternity and grieves for them and their parents. He allows humans to decide to murder their own children for social, emotional and financial reasons. Most don’t have enough faith in God that He will provide for their babies.
4. Your fatalistic view of God is contrary to all of His teachings. I don’t know how many years you have invested in studying the history of religions and mankind’s interaction with their concept of supernatural forces that rules their lives. There is not one civilization I can identify that did not create some type of god system.
No civilization based on atheism has survived, thrived or is even mentioned in history, other than socialism, communism and totalitarianism that are known for the mass slaughter of their citizens and oppression of personal freedom.
Atheists cannot point to any GREAT accomplishments or value their philosophy has added to any civilization, other than a perspective that ultimately leads to personal pride, arrogance, total selfishness, elitism, sexual immorality and ultimately dissipation.
With out hope for an awesome eternity, their lives are filled with sorrow and misery as their bodies and brains experience the aging and deterioration inevitability and they witness the end of their lives approaching. If you study the lives of the most famous atheists, near the end there was a certain element of fear, despair and hopelessness.
Some even committed suicide as the ultimate one finger salute to a God they said did not exist. Certain individuals even experienced a certain element of fear because there was no human way to know for sure they made the right choice in rejecting God. If they were wrong, the consequences are horrendous.
In 2004, the American Journal of Psychiatry reported:“Religiously unaffiliated subjects had significantly more lifetime suicide attempts and more first-degree relatives who committed suicide than subjects who endorsed a religious affiliation. Unaffiliated subjects were younger, less often married, less often had children, and had less contact with family members. Furthermore, subjects with no religious affiliation perceived fewer reasons for living, particularly fewer moral objections to suicide. In terms of clinical characteristics, religiously unaffiliated subjects had more lifetime impulsivity, aggression, and past substance use disorder. No differences in the level of subjective and objective depression, hopelessness, or stressful life events were found.[8][9]
“Pitzer College sociologist Phil Zuckerman compiled country-by-country survey, polling and census numbers relating to atheism, agnosticism, disbelief in God and people who state they are non-religious or have no religious preference. These data were published in the chapter titled “Atheism: Contemporary Rates and Patterns” in The Cambridge Companion to Atheism, ed. by Michael Martin, Cambridge University Press: Cambridge, UK (2005).
In examining various indicators of societal health, Zuckerman concludes about suicide:”Concerning suicide rates, this is the one indicator of societal health in which religious nations fare much better than secular nations. According to the 2003 World Health Organization’s report on international male suicides rates (which compared 100 countries), of the top ten nations with the highest male suicide rates, all but one (Sri Lanka) are strongly irreligious nations with high levels of atheism. It is interesting to note, however, that of the top remaining nine nations leading the world in male suicide rates, all are former Soviet/Communist nations, such as Belarus, Ukraine, and Latvia. Of the bottom ten nations with the lowest male suicide rates, all are highly religious nations with statistically insignificant levels of organic atheism.”[13] quotes from conservapedia.com website.
