I was reading the 15 promises of Mary for saying and being an advocate of the rosary. The first one is, “Whoever shall faithfully serve me by the recitation of the Rosary shall receive signal graces.”
After doing some research online I discovered “signal graces” are amazing events in your life that fulfill a special spiritual purpose. They can occur any time you are faithfully praying the rosary. I witness these events daily.
Through unexpected events God directs my path. Today I was praying in front of the local planned parenthood abortion clinic where they do chemical abortions. A huge rain storm was approaching.
A man pulled up in his car and confessed just how much he appreciated me praying in public. He did not want his tax money going to pay for abortions.
The rain held off just long enough for him to get out of his car to shake my hand. As soon as he got back into his car the deluge hit.
I prayed as long as I could until my safety was jeopardized. The wind was so strong I could barely stand in one place with my sign and umbrella. I was knocked 4 feet back by a very strong blast of wind.
It rained so hard, I soon had to retreat from the sidewalk to my car. There was so much water on the road, it was like a wading pool. Each car created a huge wave of water that slammed into me.
The chances for hydroplaning and running me over was high. My guardian angel gave me the heads up it was time to leave.
I prayed one more rosary in my car, hoping for the storm to let up so I could go back and pray for everyone passing by. I was already soaked to the skin anyway but it continued to rain. My safety was in jeopardy.
I reluctantly drove to St. Michael’s and prayed 3 more rosaries before the tabernacle. This was the first time in 2 years I was forced to leave my post because of inclement weather. The signal grace was that I had the opportunity to talk to the man who stopped before it started raining.
